Summary:
The Elementary Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) Coach collaborates with principals, instructional coaches, interventionists, and other building-based staff to establish and strengthen the use of MTSS structures, systems, and practices outlined by Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). MTSS coaches plan and facilitate school-level and district-level professional learning, in addition to being key facilitators of the school-level use of the elementary MTSS data management system. Our educators are engaged in a collective and intentional effort to build cultural competency and foster racial equity. Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Massachusetts DESE Elementary License with SEI endorsement or additional license in ESL
Master's Degree in Education
Deep technical knowledge of the core tenets of MTSS, as defined by the DESE MTSS Blueprint
Exceptional data literacy skills
Desired Qualifications:
Ability to build professional relationships with principals, instructional coaches, and educators that inspire teacher trust, self-reflection and collaboration
Deep knowledge of implementation science and the change process; experience leading change processes in support of improved student outcomes
Experience implementing MTSS systems, structures, and practices within an elementary school setting
Must demonstrate an investment to creating equitable learning experiences for all students using Culturally Responsive Instruction and Universal Design for Learning practices
Strong communication skills, including an exceptional ability to calibrate support and guidance based on individual educator self-efficacy
Deep knowledge of the MA Curriculum Frameworks for Literacy, Math, and Social-emotional learning
A working knowledge of current research, trends in evidence-based practices, and resources related to district goals
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
District and school responsibilities:
Co-facilitate weekly, school-level MTSS meetings across multiple elementary schools
Attend weekly calibration meeting with MTSS coaches and Director of MTSS
Support the administration, recording, and analysis of components within our MTSS data-management system across elementary schools, including progress monitoring and implementation fidelity measures
Provide weekly coaching and consultation to school-based educators and principals; additional consultations as needed
Plan and facilitate professional learning to educators across Unit A and C roles
Responsible for implementing "other job-related duties" as needed
