JOB SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing tailored educational support to students with disabilities, ensuring their academic success and fostering a positive learning environment. The Intervention Specialist will collaborate with the IEP team, parents, and staff to create effective learning experiences, implement behavioral management techniques, and promote student independence and critical thinking.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach scheduled classes, maintaining a thorough understanding of subject material.
Provide supplemental instruction to students with disabilities requiring intensive support.
Create effective student learning experiences and document teaching performance objectives.
Utilize assessment strategies to monitor and manage student learning.
Evaluate academic needs and develop meaningful educational activities.
Vary instructional techniques to address diverse learning styles.
Provide accommodations as needed and communicate with the IEP team.
Facilitate self-reliance, problem-solving, critical-thinking, creativity, and performance skills.
Collaborate on student learning activities promoting positive peer relationships.
Support the development of appropriate study skills.
Uphold Board policies and administrative guidelines/procedures.
Promote a professional image of the school district and encourage community partnerships.
Maintain records of individual student contacts and uphold the student conduct code.
Respect personal privacy and maintain confidentiality of privileged information.
Ensure safety by monitoring and supervising students and report suspected child abuse or neglect.
Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and other required school activities.
Pursue growth opportunities enhancing professional performance.
Serve as a positive role model, maintaining professional appearance and prompt notification of absences.
Perform other job-related duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Ohio Department of Education license/certificate appropriate for the position.
Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
Clean criminal record suitable for public school employment.
Compliance with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.
Stay updated with technology and workplace innovations supporting job functions.
Training and/or experience in behavioral management techniques and differentiated instruction.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse client base.
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
