Knowesis is seeking an Interpretive Planner to support the Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and collaborate with ANC Stakeholders to articulate ANC's interpretive mission statement and define program goals and objectives.
Position is contingent upon contract award
This work will include, but not be limited to:
Develop a Comprehensive Interpretive Plan (CIP).
Communicate ANC's overall vision and serve as the basis for decision-making related to ANC's interpretive program.
Ensure the CIP includes a Long Range (10 years) Interpretive Plan (LRIP), Visitor Survey questionnaire and data collection plan (if exercised), and Annual Implementation Plans (AIPs).
Experience and Skills
Master's degree in History, Museum Studies, Education (or related field).
Interpretive Planning certification (from any of the industry recognized certification programs).
4+ years of experience in developing and creating Comprehensive Interpretive Plans.
Familiarity with the Military community, travel and tourism, Military protocol, ceremonies, and special events, and historical sites.
Customer service orientations with strong interpersonal, team-building, organizational, problem-solving, strategic, and communication skills (oral and written).
Possess computer skills including: initialization, operation of Microsoft Office, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics programs.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and as a team.
Government/Military: 3 years (Preferred)
Interpretive Planning: 4 years (Required)
Work Location: Client site in Arlington, VA
Government Security Clearance: Active Public Trust or higher
