DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Harborview's Interpreter Services Department provides oral, written and sight translation services to their patients. Ensuring that all patients have access to healthcare.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in a call center as the first point of contact for the department

Create daily schedules for staff interpreters and coordinate requests for agency, telephonic and video interpreters

Respond to same day requests for in-person interpreters and the immediate dispatching of interpreters

Independently advise staff, contracted clients, and others regarding program content, policies, procedures, and activities, and select and recommend courses of action

Communicate clearly and calmly in demanding situations

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights.

Maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in a healthcare or administrative role

OR

equivalent education/experience.
