Job Summary

The job of the Interpreter is done for the purpose/s of providing complex and responsible oral translations from English into foreign languages and foreign languages into English; and serve as a resource to other district personnel requiring assistance with non-English speaking persons on an as needed basis. CalPERS pension for employees working 20 hours or more per week; additional retirement plans (403b and 457) are available to interested employees. • Vacation Leave: Number of days determined by the number of hours worked per week (available to use after the probationary period). • Sick Leave: Number of days determined by the number of hours worked per week • Holidays: 14 paid holidays per year • Longevity: Incentive provided to personnel with continuous service in the Castro Valley Unified School District starting at five (5) years.

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience: Job-related experience is required. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficient knowledge of ASL is required.
