VIEW JOBS 3/30/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-28T00:00 Job Details Job Location: Minneapolis - Minneapolis, MN Position Type: Internship Salary Range: Undisclosed Job Shift: Day Description By joining the Bio-Techne team you will have an impact on future cutting-edge research. Bio-Techne, and all of its brands, provides tools for researchers in Life Sciences and Clinical Diagnostics. Position Summary: Title: developing and optimization of multiplex IHC and ICC protocols. Antibodies are widely used for Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Immunocytochemistry (ICC) for research and diagnostic applications. There is a growing demand in employing antibodies for multiplex IHC and ICC for simultaneous detection of multiple cell and tissue targets. In order to develop robust multiplex techniques, it is necessary to confirm the specificity of mixed antibodies and to demonstrate that these antibodies bind with the correct target proteins in cells and tissues. Since antibodies are raised against either membrane-bound or cytoplasmic or nuclear proteins, it is necessary to optimize fixation conditions allowing optimal preservation of the antigens to obtain strong signal for each target protein. The summer project involves developing multiplex IHC and ICC protocols and optimize different chemical fixatives to obtain high-sensitivity immuno- staining with polyclonal, monoclonal and recombinant antibodies. The intern will also perform cell cultures and compare results of fixation under the fluorescence microscope. This internship will be guided by a motivated team of scientists and research associate and a final presentation will be given by the intern on the findings of the project.
