Job Summary

Health & Safety Intern

Project Name: EHS Procedures and Risk Assessments

Project Duration: 3months

Paid Internship: The pay rate for this internship is commensurate with the candidate's years of schooling and major. The pay scale is between $15 - and $26 per hour.

Requirements:

• Bachelor preferred

• Coursework Prerequisites: Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental, Industrial Hygiene or related field

Location: Lompoc, CA or Quincy, WA with frequent travel

PROJECT SCOPE:

PMA NA has been working on rolling out North American-specific EHS procedures. To accomplish this we require extra support at several facilities in the Western United States including No Agua, New Mexico, Escondido, CA, Fernley, Nevada, Green River, Wyoming, Quincy, WA and Lompoc, CA to complete risk assessments, work with maintenance to write LOTOTO procedures, and assess current safety practices against the procedures.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION & DELIVERABLES:

This job will spend approximately 50% of their time in the plant sites to gather data and the remaining time at a desktop generating procedures, and organizing spreadsheets and documents.

PROJECT LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Learning NA EHS Procedures Including but not limited to:

• Lock Out Tag Out Try Out

• Confined Spaces

• Risk Assessments

• Generating site-specific procedures

• Completing Risk Assessments and risk inventories

• Communication

• Collaboration
