Internship Handling And Operations

Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of an airfreight carrier and what it takes to move commodities by airplane internationally? Then we would like to meet you and see if you are a good fit for our handling and operations department in Chicago, IL.

The internship is scheduled to start in October/November 2024 for 6 months. The internship is remunerated.

Tasks

The selected applicant will support the handling and operations team in Chicago and the tasks will include (but are not limited to):

• Apply planning and analytical skills to support business and process improvement projects

• Gather and evaluate statistical data to monitor and analyze KPIs

• Support local handling digitalization initiatives

• Support local warehouse projects

• Assist in local knowledge management and transfer

• Help with coordination of meetings, workshops and events

Requirements

We are looking for a well-rounded intern with knowledge and interest in handling and operations.

• You must be in at least the third semester of your studies

• Completed basic studies

• Excellent analytical skills, affinity with figures and experience with statistical analysis

• Enrollment for the entire period of the internship (current enrollment certificate and certificate of mandatory internship must be attached to the application) or internship between the Bachelor and Master studies (Gap Year)

• Ability to gather facts and figures and analyze KPIs

• Affinity with process analysis, process improvement and optimization

• Advanced in the use of all standard office software especially in MS Excel

• Good English language skills and communication skills

• First experience in aviation desirable

• You have a valid passport

• You have EU citizenship or German work permit and German residence, bank account, tax number and health insurance with social security
