Job Description
Bridging North America (BNA), a partnership of Fluor, ACS Infrastructure Canada and Aecon Group Inc., is seeking a summer intern candidate for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
BNA was selected to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the CAD$5.7 billion (approximate US$4.4 billion) Gordie Howe International Bridge project for Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA).
When completed, the bridge will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. The project includes a bridge and border crossing spanning the Detroit River and connecting Detroit, Michigan, U.S., and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, by linking Interstate 75 and Interstate 96 in Michigan with the new extension of Highway 401 (Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway) in Ontario. The scope also includes building new, state-of-the-art ports of entry on both the U.S. and Canadian sides of the Detroit River as well as improvements to existing infrastructure in both Michigan and Ontario.

The Construction Engineering Aide (Summer Internship) is an entry level position assigned to field engineering. Its purpose is to provide clerical and basic technical support for the function, department, or project being supported. As experience is gained individual will provide support in an increased capacity with greater responsibility.
Assist in the operation of the function, department, or project being supported
Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
Work under the direct supervision of a construction engineer or project engineer/manager to perform various assignments of a construction engineering nature, both technical and clerical
Work alongside project engineering and management team to develop and present work plans and procedures to field personnel
Receive specific and detailed instructions
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and global standards
Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
Work alongside project engineering and management team to review and progress schedules
Participate in field quantity and cost tracking, review, and reporting
Review and gain exposure to client contract and permits, contract plans, specifications, and other requirements
Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in Infrastructure / Heavy Civil Industry
Typically has one (1) year of project experience
GPA 3.0 or higher
Previous internship experience
Leadership and/or participation in extra-curricular campus activities
Ability to speak/read multiple languages
