Internship - Associate Product Manager

Security Benefit is searching for an Intern to join our Product Management team. The ideal candidate will work from our home office in Topeka, Kansas. Security Benefit associates are working in a hybrid environment with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

What Does the Job Look Like?

Security Benefit is looking for an Intern to partner with an experienced Product Manager to launch technical product features for our customers. This includes ensuring that our Financial Products are supported with intuitive and customer centric digital capabilities. As an Associate Digital Product Manager, you'll be responsible for:

• Preparing and directing work for agile teams:

• Writing Stories for Engineers and/or Vendor Partners

• Preparing interviewing scripts for the Product Manager to conduct user interviews

• Analyze click stream data analytics

• Run stand ups, document notes and artifacts from working sessions, ensure team documentation is completed and thorough

• Gaining an empathetic understanding of the customer via participation in research planning or design sessions for product or feature.

• Identifying and understanding customer needs through qualitative and quantitative methods.

• Building awareness of UX design principles and tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD) to effectively collaborate with designers and understand user feedback.

• Growing an awareness of basic software development concepts and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).

• Expanding your understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and basic database concepts.

• Ensures product backlog has 2-3 sprints worth of work ready.

• Recognizing when problems arise and research/propose ways to resolve or escalate.

Who Are You?

If you are passionate about shaping user experiences in the annuities sector and thrive in a collaborative environment:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Master Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or Software Engineering

• Basic understanding of product management concepts

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate findings effectively.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
