Security Benefit is searching for an experienced student for an Internship to join our IT Audit team. This position will work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas or our Overland Park, Kansas office. Security Benefit associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

What Does the Job Look Like?
The IT Audit Intern will be responsible for assisting in the evaluation of the information technology general controls (ITGCs) across the Company, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure the audits of the Company's controls and financial statements are executed effectively and efficiently. The position will report to the Lead Auditor, ITGC.
Students eligible for the internship will be current, full-time students available to work approximately 19 hours a week, beginning as soon as possible. The student will work during and between semesters, up to full-time during the summer. If eligibility remains, the student may work longer than one year. This is not a summer/winter only internship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in assessing both the design and operating effectiveness of IT and system internal controls
Work with control stakeholders to gather documentation and evidence internal and/or external control support
Perform and document various control tests and analyses and conclusions
Ensure work papers and other documentation are complete, appropriate, and in support of audit procedures conducted and planned
Participate in special projects as assigned by the Lead Auditor, ITGC
Who Are You?
Beyond experience, the right personal style and competencies are critical to success as the IT Audit Intern. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following competencies and characteristics:
Full-time student in Accounting, Finance, Business, Technology, Data Analytics or related field with at least a 3.5 GPA in major. Current junior or senior student preferred.
Available to work approximately 12 - 19 hours a week (including during breaks)
Proficient computer skills; including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
Enjoy continuous learning and have the ability to absorb new knowledge quickly
Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills
Adaptable and flexible team player
Knowledge and understanding of internal controls and ITGCs is desirable
Strong written and oral communication skills, will work with various levels of the organization
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage to deadlines
