The OB unit houses a level II nursery with a capacity of 12 newborns 32 weeks and above.
Anything under 32 weeks is shipped to Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene.
Sacred Heart has a mobile NICU ambulance it will send out to transport preemies.
Any multiples over twins are also sent to Sacred Heart.
10 sets of twins were born last year.
The nursery has a 6: 1 ratio for standard of care and is staffed by at least 2 RN' s at all times.
1 PALS trained RN will be in the nursery overnight as most children are encouraged to stay with their parents.
Another is present for late night deliveries.
