Essential Functions:

  • Summer paid internship working in EMC's Corporate Facilities Department

  • Develops management and communication skills to work effectively with contractors, architects, and designers

  • Assists with client presentations, resource updates and vendor management

  • Learns about creating detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and cost-benefit analysis for various initiatives

  • Provides new ideas and improvements to current processes

  • Learns about EMC systems and functions

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of junior year preferred

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher

  • Design related major required

Ability to provide a portfolio of design examples/projects if selected for an interview

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • General knowledge of interior design principles

  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Responsibilities You will assist the Design Department with multiple tasks including but not limited to: * revising shop drawings * making test papers and preparing job packets * plotting * preparing CAD backgrounds As a Design intern you may manage and design projects as assigned with supervision by the Area Design Manager or Contract Design Manager.
