Dexter Laundry is looking to add an International Product Development Engineer to their team of employee owners.

As an International Product Development Engineer, you will work both individually and in team environments to coordinate various aspects of the Product Development, Manufacturing, and Regulatory compliance tasks. This multifaceted position will perform evaluations and testing, manage certification projects, research, and document regulatory demands both in the US and internationally which includes supporting production operations mainly related to agency requirements. This role will work collaboratively with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and Manufacturing to develop systems that will support our future efforts in the international marketplace along with improving the current systems and processes used to support our on-going efforts. There will be a 50/50 mix of computer work and hands-on work.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Individual will be responsible for creating and executing test plans.

  • Creating and executing component and/or end-product evaluations on gas dryers, electric dryers, and washing machines

  • Work with Supply Chain to identify and source components for evaluation and production use.

  • Working with certification agencies to obtain quotes, execute projects, and resolve non-compliances that arise.

  • Individual will be fielding questions that require the research and interpretation of standards.

  • Take ownership in our business results and your personal wellness.

  • General Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite (excel, word, power point, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge of low voltage power systems (120VAC & 240 VAC)

  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical tools, E.g. Hand tools, drills, grinders etc.

  • Working knowledge of basic electronic tools, E.g. Digital multimeter, temperature loggers, etc.

  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills required.

  • Be a self-starter.

  • Have a high attention to detail.

  • Domestic and International appliance standards and approval processes a plus.

  • Have good written and oral communication skills.

  • Be a team player - Have the ability to collaborate with other team members internal and external to the regulatory department.

Essential education, licenses, certifications, skills and experience:

  • BS in Electrical engineering or similar background with strong electrical knowledge is preferred

  • Previous work with certification agencies is a plus

  • Functional safety background is a plus

  • Previous experience with Autocad is highly desired

  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually light to moderate. Travel less than 5%.
