Position Summary:

PositionSummary:
Responsible for helping create all of the necessary shippingdocumentation for international consolidations that occur at our Good Hope Roadfacility on a daily basis. This individual will must be able to work within SAPto create the necessary export documentation. They will also assist in theinput of foreign trade export data, including commodity codes, origination ofmaterials and NAFTA information. They will also be responsible to follow-up onany shipping issues with appropriate departments such as tracking requests,invoicing problems claims processing. They also will communicate and coordinateinternational shipments with Customer Service and International consolidationon a regular basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create required international documentation through SAP and other applications for daily international consolidations.

  • Follow up and resolve any shipping documentation issues with international operations.

  • Prepare all paperwork for daily consol including Latin America Customers.

  • Prepare all necessary documentation to ensure uninterrupted transportation of products

  • Communicate with Freight Forwarders, Carriers and Brokers for the Transportation of goods.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to search the Internet.

  • Must have good communication skills, ability to maintain accurate, detailed data and documents.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to be adaptable and achieve results even in challenging situations

  • Ability to work on the Distribution Floor when needed.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Associates degree in related field

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the creation of shipping documentation/paperwork and some knowledge of export/import procedures.

  • Experience with governmental and carrier automated systems

  • Knowledge of export rules and regulations, Inco terms and International documentation

  • Ability to work within various modules of SAP and be proficient in pulling data out of SAP.

Management of US and Canadian customs brokers and a staff of 6 direct reports. Driving continuous improvement of US and Canadian Customs entry rate compliance, Export Compliance, reduction of Requests for Information, implementation of process efficiencies, while promoting consistency across team and focusing on cycle time and regulatory compliance. Develop and provide training to employees and guidance/interpretation of the regulations. Will proactively oversee and guide export and import compliance matters while effectively interacting with employees at all levels and will work both independently and with other members of the organization on a variety of international trade compliance matters while determining their export/import needs, and developing and implementing appropriate strategies to meet business requirements. Provides the necessary leadership to perpetuate and enhance the Rockwell Automation culture of providing superior quality and customer service as perceived by the customer. Core Tasks and Key Responsibilities * Providing oversight, escalation, and leadership to daily operating activities related to import and export activities * Broker / Forwarder Management * Lead continuous improvement & productivity initiatives; implement changes required by regulatory changes related to: import/export, security, etc. * Drive cost productivity (Brokerage RFP's, FTA's) * Development of Direct Reports (performance and development reviews) * Management of Trade Compliance related record retention * Assist in maintaining Export/Import Compliance Policies, Procedures and Manuals * Determine applicability and requirements of exporting and importing products under International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), U.S. Customs regulations and other trade regulations as appropriate * Manage and monitor Restricted Party Screening system * Manage participation and maintain certification in C-TPAT * Manage Export Compliance Program that will be implemented throughout the region and provide support acquisitions during the due diligence phase. * Oversee the sanctioned party screening process and work with the Analyst, Export Compliance to insure that issues are resolved timely and accurately. Monitor the reporting of the screening process metrics. * Submit export license applications to the US Government for approval. * Prepare and file all US Government reports as mandated by the EAR * Support, advise and inform other functional areas of the as needed for special programs and projects. * Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations. * Establish compliance assessment audits, assist in investigations and support the implementation of corrective actions * Implement trade compliance policies and procedures by providing formal and informal communications and guidance to internal and external customers regarding all conditions of the export and import authorizations * Make formal presentations in meetings, and responds to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors related to export/import compliance.
