GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Controls export activities on a day to day basis. Develops and maintains relationships with key clients and key suppliers. Identify operations processes where there is need for improvement and assist with suggestion and implementing solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients and key suppliers.

  • Responds to external and internal client inquiries.

  • Performs operational functions to include resolving concerns and issues surrounding coordination and execution of any and all export transportation needs for the station/region.

  • Communicate with vendors/suppliers regarding shipment dispatch, routing, pricing, and rates.

  • Prepares documents necessary to complete export, import and customs clearance process .

  • Seek the most profitable mode of shipment, yet meet client's requirement for the movement of freight.

  • Makes recommendations to reduce costs and maximize profitability.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of the Import/Export industry preferred.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate (verbally and intuitively) effectively with both clients and internal personnel.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be career-oriented, hard-working, quick learner and have excellent recall for past events/situations/numbers.

  • Strong knowledge of personal computers Education and Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Three to five years related experience

  • At least one year industry experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Professional certification may be required in some areas.

Physical Requirements

  • Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment

  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus

  • Job may require extended sitting or standing, use of standard office equipment.

The International Assignment Associate (IAA) assists with the coordination of all relocation services delivery to Graebel Relocation Services Worldwide customers and their international assignees by administering components of the customer's policies. Some of the services the Graebel IAA provides may include policy counseling, assignment management, destination services, household goods forwarding, home rental/purchase, intercultural services, visa/immigration services, ongoing assignment support and repatriation. The primary function of the IAA is to ensure customer satisfaction while complying with the customer's service agreement. The most successful International Assignment Associates clearly demonstrate many of the following characteristics: * Above all you must display a deep and continuous customer service approach in order to help the assignment proceed smoothly and effectively. * You must possess a strong sense of personal accountability since the IAA interacts with both the assignee and our customers. * Demonstrable skills in organization and attention to details, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with an ability to research, identify and develop solutions to problems are expected. * An ability to quickly establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, service providers, etc. is critical to managing the relocation process in collaboration with a Consultant. * Many issues are time sensitive, therefore, you need a sense of urgency regarding task completion, as well as displaying self-initiative and a willingness to step up in order to meet the needs of our clients. Required Skills * Provide assignee and corporation with assistance, from initiation of service to completion of the relocation assignment, or as defined by the program, in accordance with department standards. Consult with the assignee on their employer's policy and define procedures to set clear expectations of service levels. * Coordinate authorized services on behalf of the assignee. Track initiated services to ensure that the proper services are being provided on time and in accordance with the policy and the assignees' needs. Maintain positive relationships with service providers. * Identify customer's service requirements/needs to ensure assignee satisfaction with those international services that are provided. Establish the assignee's requirements and identify a timeline for delivery of those services. Follow up with the assignee regarding the status of their relocation. Escalate matters to the Relocation Operation Manager when assignee indicates dissatisfaction with services. Track escalations via escalation tool. * Ensure all actions and data relating to the assignee are up to date and accurate in GlobalPro. Create timely and accurate updates, providing the corporate client, internal colleagues and the assignee with a 24/7 self-service portal to access relocation details. * Maintain communication with an assignee that Graebel relocates to ensure their satisfaction and to determine when they will repatriate in order to promote utilization of Graebel services for the assignee's repatriation. * Other duties as assigned Required Experience Education: Associate's degree in business or related field or equivalent relevant experience. Experience: 2-4 years of experience in international relocation. Understanding of the complexities of international relocations. Prefer someone who has lived overseas Licenses/Certifications/Specialized Training: Knowledge and PC skills. Bilingual skills a Plus.
