We are looking for a professional to support several withholding tax services offered by EY. This job requires an understanding of global withholding tax rates, rules and relief at source and reclaim procedures as well as an understanding of double tax treaties. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for editing EY's Global Withholding Tax Reporter, which is an online tool reflecting withholding tax rates and rules in over 130 jurisdictions. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with various withholding tax documents including relief at source and reclaim forms. The role requires excellent writing and editing skills. This job liaises with EY professionals in other countries and sub-service line sectors within EY.
Your key responsibilities
Key responsibilities include reviewing withholding tax changes in various jurisdictions and incorporating those changes into EY's Global Withholding Tax Reporter, analyze cross-border investment income data both manually and via the use of tax technology tools to identify over withholding on income events, and assist with the preparation of relief-at-source forms or tax reclaim forms and any additional documentation that must accompany such forms. Other responsibilities include coordinating with clients/financial intermediaries to ensure that additional required documentation is received to file any reclaims and communicating with the broader client team regarding changes and/or follow-up on client accounts, status of refunds and other necessary beneficial owner documentation.
Requirements:
BA/BS degree
3 + years international tax experience in financial services industry; custody banking related experience preferred
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage deadlines
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Strong oral and written communication skills
Focus on attention to detail and quality
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure
