TITLE: International Consultant (Mercer Health & Benefits LLC Chicago, IL)

DUTIES:

  • Provide client-ready results and communications for review by senior international consultants.

  • Provide draft client communications and report for review by senior international consultants.

  • Coordinate and aggregate information on insured benefit programs provided by multinational clients.

  • Conduct analysis of multinational pooling for clients which includes analyzing existing multinational pooling reports and agreements; and assessing additional opportunities for multinational pooling.

  • Coordinate the data collection process for global benefit inventories for multinational clients.

  • Gather and compile information on current benefit programs around the world, as well as compare against benchmarks and providing initial recommendations on changes.

  • Support a range of international projects such as, competitive benefits analysis and benefits for start-up operations.

  • Support the review and rebidding of expatriate medical insurance policies and other benefits contracts for globally mobile employees and key local nationals.

  • Liaise with Mercer consultants to draft responses to client questions on benefit issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Global Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Global HR Business Partner, or a related position.

  • Must have three (3) years of experience with the following: planning and designing financial funding arrangement to employers with international operations; developing test and total rewards strategy and governance model; conducting merger and acquisition multi-country due diligence and post-deal integration; global benefits benchmarking including health, accident, life, disability, perqs and allowances, leave practice and wellness programs; researching and determining relevant benchmarking criteria and method; project management within internal HR and relevant project process; reviewing and managing mobility programs including insured mobility plans, relocation, tax equalization, and culture immersion; and reviewing site selection and country start up.

  • Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree plus one (1) year of experience in the above. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

VIEW JOBS 2/26/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-05-27T00:00 Company:Mercer Description: TITLE: International Consultant (Mercer Health & Benefits LLC – Chicago, IL) DUTIES: * Work with a team of International Consultant Group (ICG) consultants and Mercer consultants around the world to deliver customized multinational client solutions and address complex issues. * Responsible for pension accounting consolidation projects. * Review input from local actuaries and benefit consultants. * Take ownership of specific deliverables. * Provide client-ready results and communications for review by senior international consultants. * Provide comments and raise questions regarding the pension valuation results. * Complete basic pension actuarial calculations and analyses. * Coordinate the activity of local brokers and consultants around the world, comparing against benchmarks and providing initial recommendations on changes. * Support a range of international projects such as retirement design and funding, competitive benefits analysis, and benefits for start-up operations. * Support the review and rebidding of expatriate medical insurance policies and other benefit contracts for globally mobile employees and key local nationals. * Liaise with Mercer consultants to draft responses to client questions on non-domestic retirement and benefit issues. REQUIREMENTS: * Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Insurance, or a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as an Actuarial Analyst, or a related position. * Must have two (2) years of experience with the following: US GAAP and IFRS accounting guidelines; actuarial valuation skills; coding with actuarial valuation software; MS Excel with VBA; actuarial valuation and analysis; change management analysis including quantifying and explaining the impact of change in liability due to actuarial assumption or other methodology change; project management; risk management; and pension and annuity-related products. Must hold the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation. * Alternatively the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a stated field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the above. * The employer will accept pre- or post-Master's degree experience. * Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
