Major Duties
PLEASE NOTE: Position will be filled at either the Student Services Professional SSP IA, SSP IB, or SSP II level, dependent upon applicant qualifications.
SSP IA: Under direct supervision, the incumbent acquires the ability to evaluate and research international educational systems and documents; develops expertise in determining admission eligibility for graduate applicants, and in using and correcting data in the SOLAR student database; learns to provide pre-application, application, and admission advisement for graduate international applicants as well as domestic graduate applicants with international transcripts and degrees; and performs other duties as assigned.
SSP IB: Under general supervision, the incumbent provides pre-application, application, and admission advisement for graduate and undergraduate international applicants as well as domestic applicants with international transcripts and degrees; evaluates and researches international educational systems and documents; works independently and in cooperation with graduate departments to determine admission eligibility for graduate applicants.; determines admission eligibility of applicants at the undergraduate level; enters transfer courses into the U.Achieve database and recommends international course work to CSUN's general education requirements; and performs other duties as assigned.
SSP II: Under general supervision, the incumbent provides pre-application, application, and admission advisement for graduate and undergraduate international applicants as well as domestic applicants with international transcripts and degrees; evaluates and researches international educational systems and documents; works independently and in cooperation with graduate departments to determine admission eligibility for graduate applicants; determines admission eligibility of applicants at the undergraduate level; enters transfer courses into the U.Achieve database and recommends international course work to CSUN's general education requirements; acts as a Designated School Official (DSO) -- creates initial l-20's in the national SEVIS database and processes transfer student l-20's; and performs other duties as assigned.

The anticipated HIRING RATES per month are: $3952 (SSP IA); $ 4269 (SSP IB); $4841 (SSP II). The salary ranges for these classifications are: $3952 - $4834 (SSP IA); $4269 - $6040 (SSP IB); $4841 - $6884 (SSP II) per month.
HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
The SSP IA is a temporary position. Based upon satisfactory progress, the incumbent will be promoted to the SSP-1B level after the conclusion of the 12-month training program.
The SSP IB is a temporary position. Based upon satisfactory progress, the incumbent will be promoted to SSP II after the conclusion of the 12-month training program.
The SSP II is a regular position with a one-year probationary period.
