The Internal Wholesaler (IW) will be a Denver based member of the Great-West Retirement Services (GWRS) Intermediary Sales Team. The IW is partnered with assigned Regional Sales Directors to identify and develop sales within their assigned territories. The IW will also support the Regional Sales Director in developing new business leads and cultivating existing relationships in promoting the sale of GWRS products within intermediary channels (broker/dealers and advisors), Employee Benefit brokers, and insurance agent channels.
Delivers high quality, responsive service to all inbound requests for information and sales support from Brokers and Regional Sales Director.
Identifies potential opportunities and leads.
Collects and records qualifying and market segment information on contacts.
Communicates and shares all information with territory owners.
Conducts outbound calls to follow up on proposals, provide new product information and insight, identify opportunities and leads.
During all calls, and from alternate data sources, maintains qualifying and market segment data on contacts within the contact management system.
Collects and records qualifying and market segment information on all contacts.
Supports Regional Sales Directors with joint development and execution of a business plan, territory segmentation, scheduling of appointments as needed, and completing part or all portions of 401k proposals for brokers.
Supports strategic marketing initiatives on a corporate and departmental level.
Takes on special projects for the department, assists in the training and mentoring of less senior Internal Wholesalers, provides leadership to team by example and demonstrated sales techniques, skills and production results.
Identifies new sales ideas, techniques, and opportunities for the sales organization beyond the status quo.
Conduct periodic visits to assigned GWRS Regional Sales Director territories to enhance existing relationships with Top Brokers, build new relationships with Brokers, conduct product rollouts and Lunch and Learns to communicate GWRS story.
Background and Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent to 4+ years industry experience.
FINRA Series 6, 63 and applicable state insurance licenses are required.
1-2 years qualified plan, mutual fund or insurance background.
At least 1-2 years of internal wholesaling experience, with sales and/or advisory services background.
Demonstrated sales and presentation skills.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with personal computers, contact management software, and office software packages.
Must have strong interpersonal, team-oriented, organizational, leadership and project management skills.
Must be able to sit for extended periods.
Periodic travel weekdays and weekends.
Must be able to see, hear, and speak well to present to clients.
Can work in a moderately loud environment.
