Job Summary:

Individuals assuming this role will be responsible for supporting departmental service objectives through reactive and proactive phone efforts designed to create awareness of and educate financial advisors on the various products and services offered on the mutual fund and 529 platforms of Raymond James. Requirement to acquire and maintain the product knowledge needed to appropriately educate advisors and clients on the various products and services available on the mutual fund platform, including strategies such as domestic equity, international and global equity, taxable and municipal fixed income, and allocation strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide reactive strategy and product-related phone support.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for financial advisors contacting the mutual fund research & partner relations departments.

  • Provide balanced education on a variety of mutual fund strategies and 529 products in a manner consistent with the conservative nature of the firm.

  • Provide general education, product specific education, and support on client cases.

  • Meet specific objectives related to proactively contacting financial advisors to discuss the products and strategies identified by the mutual fund research team. Proactive efforts may include following up with advisors about funds and strategies the team has concerns with and/or believes financial advisors should be aware of.

  • Assist financial advisors with the process of deciding which strategies and products are appropriate for a particular client.

  • Maintain market and product knowledge of mutual fund strategies and 529 plans available at Raymond James.

  • Regularly use Advisor Relationship Management (ARM) infrastructure or other internal methods for documenting advisor conversations.

  • Contribute to department wide initiatives that require team input.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations.

  • Existing (or an ability to quickly acquire) the knowledge required to appropriately educate on a variety of investment strategies, including but not limited to equities, fixed income, and asset allocation strategies.

Skill in:

  • Identifying the needs of customers through effective questioning and listening techniques.

  • Organizing, managing and tracking multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Preparing and delivering clear and professional educational presentations.

  • Problem solving sufficient to effectively analyze, research and resolve inquiries and issues in a timely manner.

  • Analyzing business processes and identifying process improvement opportunities.

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.

Ability to:

  • Represent the company in a highly professional manner.

  • Organize, prioritize, and manage tasks and projects to complete work efficiently.

  • Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels to accomplish objectives.

Educational/Previous Experience

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance or a related discipline and existing (or an ability to quickly acquire) the product and strategy knowledge required to appropriately educate on the mutual fund platform.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.

  • Required: Series 7 within 6 months of hire.

VIEW JOBS 5/6/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-04T00:00 Job Summary: Under limited supervision, will apply comprehensive knowledge of balancing and reconciliation to provide support and oversight of the mutual fund reconciliation cash functions. Will independently resolve and/or assist others with both basic and intermediate reconciliation issues. Perform daily follow up on programmatic balancing processes to assure completeness and accuracy. Perform a daily review of aged cash items to insure all balancing guidelines and risk controls are being appropriately followed. Proactively scrutinize for monetary, reputational or regulatory risk situations. May participate in defined work or projects of moderate scope and complexity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Independently reviews complex cash reconciliation issues; analyzes and interprets data and determines appropriate corrective action. * Contacts internal and external customers as well as funds and depositories to resolve reconciliation issues. * Maintains currency in Reconciliation policies and procedures. * Processes various intermediate Reconciliation related reports and utilize tools including Reconciliation related databases and 3rd party applications. * Analyzes and reports trends with recommendations and implementation plans for departmental cost savings. * Works with management team to streamline processing procedures and improve workflows without hindering service levels provided by the department. * Provides support for other department associates during absences or high volume. * Provides support to less experienced associates. * Assists in reviewing lower level associates work for accuracy and completeness. * Assists with establishing and enforcing departmental policies. * Supports department management through active participation in unit team meetings and ongoing cross-training. * Provides inbox support. * Travels to the various RJA Operating Centers if deemed necessary for training or in the event of a BCP (Business Continuity Plan) situation. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: * Intermediate investment concepts, practices, procedures and industry regulations related to Mutual Fund Reconciliation activities. * Intermediate mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, averages and balancing sufficient to complete settlement. * Accounting principles. * Principles and practices of customer relations and communications. * Excel, Word, Outlook and other applications as needed. Skill in: * Identifying financial events that affect balancing and reconciliation. * Reconciling and correcting cash discrepancies. * Calculating percentages, balancing accounts, and providing statistical data. * Updating and maintaining information systems. * Organization and time management sufficient to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet critical deadlines. Ability to: * Perform basic to intermediate levels of research and analysis to solve balancing issues. * Actively participates in User Agreement Testing (UAT) for systems and new process implementation.
