Your Opportunity

As an Internal Practice Auditor you will be part of the Practice Services functional support team (FST). Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will perform senior professional audit work as a key component of the corporate governance structure within the Energy & Resources BOU.

You can be based in or close to any major center in Canada or the US.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Quality Manager and Energy & Resources BOU Discipline Leaders, plan and conduct internal practice audits as required by our certifications, including project field audits;

  • Perform independent review of other internal practice audit reports to ensure quality and consistency;

  • Analyze and report on internal key performance indicators and customer feedback results;

  • Based on the results of the audits, issue improvement plans (iPlans) for corrective action;

  • Conduct training on the requirements of the IMS, including integration training with recent acquisitions;

  • Compose various reports, which include office-specific audit reports and quarterly IMS reports distributed to leadership

  • Conduct second party contractor audits as required;

  • Participate in audits conducted by the ISO registrars.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to exercise influence through communication, negotiation and relationship building rather than through formal authority structures;

  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities;

  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities and complete tasks with limited supervision;

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products;

  • Strong presentation skills in small or large group environments, with proficiency in presentation support tools (e.g., PowerPoint)

  • French or Spanish language skills would be considered an asset.

  • Must be willing to travel in Canada and the US up to 50% of the time.

  • Must have a valid passport and good driving record.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 6-8 years of experience with the following: Working in a consulting firm environment; Auditing; ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems; Project management.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

This role is only responsible for North Carolina State Issues.Position Summary The Distributed Energy Strategy and Policy Director is responsible for: * Providing leadership and direction in the development of Distributed Technology investment and customer products strategy and related policy support for Duke Energy in the jurisdiction for which he/she is responsible. * Lead cross-functional teams to create plans which enable Duke Energy to invest in Distributed Technologies (such as renewables, combined heat and power, battery storage and electric vehicle infrastructure) and generate revenues to recover the cost of those investments and increase the earnings contribution from ; * Identifying and analyzing renewable and environmental issues and risks which may significantly impact the corporation and, in coordination with multiple departments across the enterprise, develop and execute strategic action plans to effectively manage these issues and promote the corporation's interests; * Building and maintaining positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent analysis, reporting and policy development across the enterprise. Manage the coordination and development of company comments to proposed state and federal rules and regulations; * Working effectively with internal stakeholders to assist state and federal (legislative and regulatory) efforts (e.g., providing company-specific data on various issues) and educate/provide guidance on key energy and environmental issues. * Represent Duke Energy (in conjunction with Government Affairs) in State Legislative Efforts and stakeholder meetings on critical legislation that is designed to improve the investment environment for Duke Energy in Distributed Technology and Renewables. This includes explaining to key legislators the company's position on an issue and the related legislation necessary to address it. * Representing the company and ensuring appropriate representation, as needed, in energy and environmental stakeholder organizations, advocacy efforts and educational opportunities (e.g., utility policy committees, steering committees, etc.); * Supporting the General Manager, Strategy, Policy and Strategic Investment and Vice President, DET Business Development on key policy and regulatory initiatives designed to increase utility investment opportunities and improve earnings trajectory for each regulatory utility and jurisdiction * Develop legislative language (with legal) that enables Duke Energy to achieve its strategic financial and operational objectives while simultaneously making such legislation acceptable to other stakeholders . The Distributed Energy Strategy and Policy Director must demonstrate a high level of critical/strategic thinking to resolve high impact, complex and/or cross-functional problems. Demonstrated leadership, self-starter, communication, and interpersonal skills required. Must possess a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence internally within the company and industry peers as well as externally with government officials and policymakers. Responsibilities * Lead the development of company positions and comments in response to proposed state and federal rules and regulation, including areas such as renewable energy, interconnection, battery storage, combined heat and power and related grid investments. Participate and support strategic teams deployed across the enterprise by providing analysis, insight and enterprise perspective and decision support through the project teams. * Represent the company and ensure appropriate representation, as needed, with energy and environmental stakeholders, customer groups, legislators and regulators, regulatory staff and legislative staff. Basic/Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree – area of specialization: engineering, environmental sciences, physical sciences, legal, natural resources, government/political science, finance, economics or accounting or other related field with at least 7 years of experience OR 10 years experience in lieu of a degree * The position must demonstrate a high level of critical/strategic thinking to resolve high impact, complex and/or cross-functional problems. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
