Your Opportunity

As an Internal Practice Auditor you will be part of the Practice Services functional support team (FST). Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will perform senior professional audit work as a key component of the corporate governance structure within the Energy & Resources BOU.

You can be based in or close to any major center in Canada or the US.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the Quality Manager and Energy & Resources BOU Discipline Leaders, plan and conduct internal practice audits as required by our certifications, including project field audits;

  • Perform independent review of other internal practice audit reports to ensure quality and consistency;

  • Analyze and report on internal key performance indicators and customer feedback results;

  • Based on the results of the audits, issue improvement plans (iPlans) for corrective action;

  • Conduct training on the requirements of the IMS, including integration training with recent acquisitions;

  • Compose various reports, which include office-specific audit reports and quarterly IMS reports distributed to leadership

  • Conduct second party contractor audits as required;

  • Participate in audits conducted by the ISO registrars.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to exercise influence through communication, negotiation and relationship building rather than through formal authority structures;

  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities;

  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities and complete tasks with limited supervision;

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products;

  • Strong presentation skills in small or large group environments, with proficiency in presentation support tools (e.g., PowerPoint)

  • French or Spanish language skills would be considered an asset.

  • Must be willing to travel in Canada and the US up to 50% of the time.

  • Must have a valid passport and good driving record.

Education and Experience

Minimum of 6-8 years of experience with the following: Working in a consulting firm environment; Auditing; ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems; Project management.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Job Summary Dominion Energy is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to join its team primarily supporting Dominion Energy West gas facilities. The position has responsibility for multi-facility compliance with Federal and state regulations for oil spill prevention and related programs for regulation of aboveground storage tanks, underground storage tanks, and oil-filled equipment. The facilities supported will primarily include natural gas compressor stations, pipeline operations, and office buildings. The Engineer II reports to the Supervisor Environmental – Oil Programs. The Engineer II is a subject matter expert who performs compliance work and provides technical direction and/or recommendations to management, operations, junior staff, and contractors/consultants. The primary focus is oil program compliance, but work may involve other environmental media and training as assigned. Technical complexity of work is medium to high. Job duties include: * Technical assistance to Operations for environmental compliance * Preparation, review, and maintenance of oil spill prevention control and countermeasure (SPCC) plans and other emergency response plans; as professional engineer will seal plans when required by regulation * Periodic walk downs and assessment inspections of supported facilities to verify accuracy of environmental plans and to ensure compliance * Assessment and review of secondary containment integrity and containment volumes * Preparation, review, and maintenance of oil program related guidance and training * Preparation, review, and maintenance of oil plan drawings * Preparation and oversight of aboveground and underground tank registrations, tank installations, and tank closures * Communication and coordination with regulatory agency representatives; represent Dominion during regulatory inspections and other regulatory meetings * Support to Operations for environmental inspections and environmental audits * Support to Operations and contract resources during emergency response and mitigation events * Analysis of proposed and new environmental regulations for impact on Dominion Operations * Scheduling and monitoring of environmental compliance tasks for supported facility operations * Electronic filing of environmental plans, regulatory correspondence and reports * Oversight and technical direction of contractors and consultants; internal work product peer reviews * Preparation of scopes of work and purchase requisitions for contractors and consultants; adherence to Dominion procurement procedures and budgets; budget forecasting * Adherence to Dominion environmental and safety policies, guidance and work practices * Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience * Minimum of 3 years of engineering work experience with aboveground and underground tanks systems . * Professional Engineer license or EIT is required. Professional Engineer license in Utah, Wyoming, or Colorado is preferred. * Ability to work outdoors in potential weather extremes (heat, cold) is required. * Demonstrated experience with preparing and reviewing Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans. * Regulatory agency experience or experience representing an organization with regulatory agencies is a plus. * Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives * Requires developmental experience in a professional engineering position * Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead; experience overseeing consultants a plus. * Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing); strong negotiations skills a plus. * Strong personal computer skills. * Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices. * In depth knowledge of various computer applications, with the ability to manipulate personal computer applications and perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Excel, etc.). * Equally effective working independently or in team environment. * Proven decision making skills. * Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks. * Strong planning, organizational and project management skills. Position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Much of the work, up to 50%, will be performed in the field throughout Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. A majority of the travel will be day trips, but will periodically require overnight travel. Balance of time is office work. License or ability to obtain a license to operate a motor vehicle is required. Ability to work in both office setting and at industrial sites is required. Ability to work outdoors in potential weather extremes (heat, cold) is required.
