Job Summary:

In this leadership role, you'll be a cornerstone of our IT team, spearheading security initiatives and troubleshooting intricate issues. You'll leverage your expertise to safeguard our systems, empower users, and implement new tools to improve our desktop support processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in desktop support or a related IT role, with a demonstrated focus on troubleshooting and security.

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a relevant field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in driving change, mentoring others, and fostering a collaborative environment within your team.

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems, desktop applications, networking principles, and advanced troubleshooting techniques. Linux would be a plus.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex software and hardware problems independently.

  • Strong understanding of desktop security best practices and the ability to implement security protocols.

  • Working knowledge of PC imaging tools and processes is essential.

  • Experience with implementing and managing SSO solutions is a plus. Familiarity with Azure AD is a particular asset.

  • Experience supporting conference technologies (e.g., video conferencing systems, presentation tools) is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong focus on user experience and security.

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building rapport, providing clear technical explanations, and training users on desktop policies.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive and results-oriented individual with a passion for continuous learning and a commitment to IT security.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional first-line support, diagnosing and resolving intricate hardware and software issues for end-users.

  • Lead the development and implementation of robust security protocols for our desktop environment, staying ahead of evolving threats and safeguarding company data. This includes spearheading the implementation of Single Sign-On (SSO) to streamline user access and enhance security.

  • Manage and streamline PC imaging processes, ensuring standardized desktop configurations and efficient deployment.

  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact users.

  • Mentor a direct report and train on advanced troubleshooting techniques, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

  • Analyze desktop security posture, implementing and maintaining security protocols to safeguard company data and systems.

  • Ensure compliance with established desktop policies and procedures, providing guidance and training to users as needed.

  • Manage and streamline PC imaging processes, ensuring standardized desktop configurations and efficient deployment.

  • Configure and troubleshoot Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) for seamless single sign-on (SSO) across applications.

  • Document technical solutions, procedures, and desktop policies to ensure knowledge transfer within the IT department.

  • Stay abreast of evolving security threats, desktop technologies, and best practices, continuously honing your technical expertise.

  • Troubleshoot and support conference technologies, ensuring smooth operation for meetings and presentations.
