The First Line of Defense (FLOD) Partner-Americas in the First Line of Defense Center of Excellence (FLOD COE) will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the First Line of Defense Internal Control program for the Sales, Marketing, and Customer segments of the Americas region, as well as helping to support the Global Entity Management team with any support needed across other regional First Line teams. Specifically, this person will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and execution of programs and initiatives within the first line PayPal teams within the region to support all applicable policy requirements. This position will support the business unit in identifying/reporting material control deficiencies and assessment of the effect on organizational objectives, ensuring risk owners have appropriate mitigation strategies that holistically address root causality, and collaborating with the business to achieve a competitive advantage through support of business unit initiatives. This person should be an exceptional relationship builder who can interact successfully at all levels of the company, from individual contributors to executive management. This person should have a proven ability to influence and make key decisions - and thrive - in a highly matrixed environment. This role will require a strong partnership across separate functional areas, lines of business and support areas (business owners, risk owners, etc.) to drive clear and transparent execution and reporting. The FLOD Partner will collaborate with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense to manage risks within that functional area based upon guidance from management. This position holds global responsibilities and will require coordination between APAC, EMEA, LATAM, and North American teams, Corporate Compliance, Legal, Risk Policy, and Global Governance, Risk, & Compliance.
