Job Summary

The Internal Controls Manager is an integral position for ensuring the Company's compliance with SOX requirements and managing the Company's internal control over financial reporting. The Internal Controls Manager will assist in the management of the annual SOX project, including planning, risk assessment, testing of controls and reporting to management. This role reports to the Director, SOX Compliance within the Internal Audit Department.

Job Description

Assist in annual SOX planning activities

Analyze risks and effectiveness of controls to mitigate

Design and document controls and provide control guidance to process owners

Coordinate with business process owners to maintain accuracy of documentation

Develop, execute, and review tests of design and operating effectiveness for internal controls

Facilitate IT controls and report testing with the IT Audit Team

Evaluate control deficiencies and monitor remediation activities

Aide in development of reporting to senior management

Liaise with external auditors to facilitate the integrated audit of the financial statements

Assist with special projects as needed


Strong knowledge or SOX compliance requirements, internal controls, and accounting guidance
6+ years of experience in public accounting or internal auditing and/or related fields

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

SAP experience preferred

Big 4 public accounting experience preferred

CPA or CIA preferred

Language skills, particularly Spanish or Mandarin fluency, a plus but not required

Education [Degree or equivalent experience]

Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience in related field

VIEW JOBS 4/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-12T00:00 Overview We are looking for an experienced SOX Compliance and Release Manager to manage all aspects of SOX Compliance, software releases, and license compliance around our ERP systems. This position will be responsible for release planning, release execution and release governance. The position requires hands on work involving use of processes, tools and techniques and close collaboration with ERP Operations Manager, Project Managers, ERP team members, Other IT Team members and Business Process Owners to ensure that ERP software artifacts are maintained and released in a timely efficient and compliant manner to support Sunrun's business objectives. This will likely start out as a 6 month contract to hire role. Responsibilities SOX Compliance: Final checkpoint for ERP change management process. Will ensure that change management procedures are followed for production support tickets, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Projects and incident resolutions. Will be responsible for working with internal and external audit teams, hosting providers and business process owners on routine change management, access control and computer operation audits (SOX IT General Controls). Release Management: Responsible for planning and executing weekly, monthly, quarterly and emergency ERP software releases and deployments. Environment Management/Operations: Oversee the monitoring, maintenance and production support of our ERP environments. Planning and cycling of ERP non production environments to support software development, QA and UAT activities. Incident Management: Coordinating with internal IT team, business process owners and external hosting vendors to plan, execute and communicate scheduled and non-scheduled ERP environment maintenance activities and downtimes. License Management: Maintain inventory of all product licenses owned by ERP and proactively track license usage to ensure compliance. Will work with license vendors on license audits and resolving compliance issues. Configuration Management: Will define processes and procedures for effective configuration management using configuration management tools (at present GitHub). Will ensure that version control is maintained and development team follows proper processes in Check-in, Check-out and deployment of code. Internal Collaboration: Will work closely with ERP team operations managers, project managers and other integrating systems (SFDC, Engineering etc.) release and operations staff to coordinate software releases, environment plans and cross system activities. External Collaboration: Will collaborate and work with internal and external audit teams and business stakeholders on ITGC and business SOX control related matters. Will attend weekly and emergency meetings and work with hosting and support vendor teams to resolve release, deployment and environment issues and for planning activities related to these areas. Thought & Process Leadership: It is expected that this position will utilize prior expertise and experience in the areas of SOX compliance, release management and management and monitoring of Oracle ERP computing environments to advocate implementation of best in breed processes, practices and tools in these areas. Qualifications * Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Operations or similar field or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience. * 5+ years of experience in a SOX compliance, release manager/lead capacity with Oracle E-Business Suite Applications environment, supporting operations for IT End User computing. * Proven track record in managing ERP releases, environments and software compliance related matters. * Must have experience in interacting with cross-functional teams and external vendors * Strong customer service skills and focus as well as problem solving skills. * Familiarity with on premise, hybrid and private/public cloud environment operations * Knowledge of release, configuration management and DevOps tools in Oracle ERP or similar operations * Strong communications skills, both oral and written, appropriate for a broad range including business stakeholders and end users, 3rd party vendors, offshore providers, and help desk staff. * Knowledge of ERP Database components and working knowledge of Oracle platforms.
