What is this new, pivotal role
Eaton Vance has a unique opportunity for an Internal Control Manager, based in Seattle and reporting to the Director of Internal Controls in Boston. Eaton Vance has created this pivotal role to dynamically respond to the evolving needs of its largest, rapidly growing and innovative affiliate, Parametric Portfolio Associates LLC. The Internal Controls team assesses financial reporting risk as well as defines and continuously evaluates controls across the company. We perform risk assessments, identify control gaps, and drive control remediation and control improvements. The team is involved in many facets of the ever changing business and is in the position to use critical thinking to work with all levels of management to develop solutions.
As the Internal Controls Manager, you will challenge current policies and procedures to ensure the teams are operating as effectively as possible while partnering with multiple departments within the organization to explain and implement new and enhanced procedures. You will lead projects to identify technical, functional and operational risks and drive projects to remediate issues, including technical and process fixes. You will work with teams across the organization to track remediation, resolve issues, and report progress. You will also manage our internal controls over financial reporting /Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance program as it relates to Parametric and contribute to the overall Eaton Vance SOX compliance program. As a strong business partner, you will liaise with various levels of management throughout the company to quickly identify new issues and discuss and propose controls to address varying risks. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating various efforts with the internal and external auditors.
What you'll be doing...
Leading day-to-day execution of various types of internal controls responsibilities and efforts.
Enhancing and leveraging internal/external partnerships to assist with the SOX compliance program plan, its execution, as well as all process improvement initiatives.
Creating and maintaining a prioritized roadmap to address gaps and improve control design and documentation.
Evaluating known issues and identifying root causes through end-to-end financial processes.
Training control owners and technical teams about controls and risk management.
Planning and managing multiple parallel projects.
Listening to internal/external partner needs and applying collaborative critical thinking to solve complex problems and drive change to a state of completion.
Working independently at the affiliates while also contributing to the team's goals and successes across the company.
Coaching, mentoring, and training staff, as well as other team members.
Continually challenge yourself by becoming ingrained in projects and our ever changing business.

We are eager to speak to you if you have:
Minimum of six years of experience of experience as a public auditor, consultant, internal auditor, risk advisory professional, or risk & controls oversight professional in a public company or the financial services industry.
Big 4 experience required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in business, accounting, finance, or related discipline.
Exceptional servicing and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding partner relationships.
Willingness and ability to travel (15-20%) to Eaton Vance headquarters in Boston and other affiliates (primarily domestic based) with the possibility for further.
Even better if you have:
CPA/CIA/CISA designations a plus
Additional education or focused experience in auditing information systems
CPA, CIA or CISA
