Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager, Internal Controls, the Internal Controls Analytics Advisor will primarily be responsible for conducting advisory services and data analysis to support and enhance the Control Self-Monitoring (CSM) program at FedEx Office. This position will work closely with department managers as well as finance leadership and staff to prioritize, coordinate, and implement improvements. The role will also identify process simplification opportunities and corresponding solutions, analyze data from various sources to identify areas of concern and develop corrective action plans, and participate in special projects.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple projects and leads project activities through meeting facilitation, managing project scope and communicating progress

  • Develops detailed project plans encompassing key tasks, milestones, and critical path activities such as design, development, testing, communications, and deliverables

  • Analyzes problem trends and identifies new areas of concern using analytic tools and proposes initiatives to reduce company risk

  • Creates new efficiencies, automations and improvements for test plans in the Control Self-Monitoring (CSM) self-assessment

  • Analyzes CSM results and prepares reporting for various levels, including executive leadership

  • Presents relevant insights in clear, succinct manner to key stakeholders and effectively communicates the implications of these trends on the business

  • Performs reviews of field-related procedures to ensure the CSM assessment is accurate and reflects current areas of risk

  • Provides internal control consultation to FSO departments, corrective action teams and management

  • Develops and documents business requirements, including possible system applications

  • Provides advisory internal control, risk management, and governance services to management as required. This includes creating and directing the efforts of departmental / cross-departmental project teams tasked with assessing and improving risk management and internal control processes and systems within FXO

  • Assists in the development and implementation of enhancements to the overall system of internal control, risk management, and governance as required

  • Mentor Sr. Analysts and Control Specialists

  • All other duties as needed or required

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline or equivalent experience

  • Master's degree preferred

  • 7 + years of relevant accounting, assurance and/or internal audit experience

  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or CCSA designation preferred

  • 5 years' experience in problem solving, analyzing and interpreting information from various sources, root cause analysis, and solution implementation

  • Prior experience with SPSS Modeler, or other analytical tool, preferred

  • Ability to communicate complex data by creating compelling digital presentations with data

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings

  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills to resolve issues, evaluate possible solutions and risks, and gain consensus; this includes the ability to resolve problems, recognize opportunities for improvement and efficiency in processes and practices

  • Supervisory / project lead experience required

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office applications (Access, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)

The Senior Internal Investigator (SII) will support the Investigations team, assessing and investigating a variety of allegations. * Independently leads a variety of investigations, including high profile/complex investigations. * Considered a technical expert in area of focus and first point of contact for escalations. * Exercises discretion regarding investigative actions to identify, evaluate and take necessary actions on an individual * case basis. * Performs assessment of the risks presented by the activity and conducts investigation by applying the appropriate investigative techniques (interview, e-discovery, evidence collection, forensic examination, etc.) and utilizing internal/external technology sources and contacts to gather comprehensive evidentiary materials. * Partners with HR/ER, Legal and line management to offer recommendations for employment decisions based on the results of the investigation. * Offers solutions as to any identified control weaknesses. * Documents case file decision making process specific to the activity being investigated. * Makes risk based decisions on behalf of Wells Fargo that is are in compliance with bank, legal and regulatory requirements and recommends actions in response to investigations. * Prepares and files Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) and other crime reports as appropriate. * May refer appropriate activity to law enforcement for criminal or civil prosecution. * May act as liaison with law enforcement and legal counsel; may represent the bank in legal proceedings. * May lead, projects and initiatives with significant exposure to the bank following investigative protocol. * May assist team in the review of staff cases to ensure compliance with departmental/regulatory guidance. * Acts as a mentor to lower level staff, and may supervise day-to-day work of less experienced team members providing guidance and training.
