GENERAL FUNCTION

The Manager- Communications is responsible for developing and implementing short-term and long-term communication plans that engage LensCrafters stores and field leaders and align to business priorities. This role provides strategic communications counsel, message development and scheduling for internal deployment across all levels of the stores organization.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Counsel and coach internal partners and colleagues on strategic and basic business communications skills and practices, while leading the communications process from concept to completion

  • Lead development, planning and execution of run-the-business, operational, policy change communications and special projects as needed

  • Drive new approaches to deliver communications in more efficient and effective ways by benchmarking industry best practices, challenging processes and recommending and incorporating new approaches

  • Develop and write communications in a variety of voices and styles for numerous channels, including email and internal communication platform

  • Work directly and collaboratively with clients and leaders to identify projects and create timely, effective and meaningful communications

  • Support social media channels and integrate into communications plans as appropriate.

  • Manage the measurement and analyze the effectiveness of LensCrafters communications efforts and develops recommendations for ongoing improvement

  • Manage agency and in-house design and multi-media partners as content developer and/or project manager on specific projects

  • Lead cross-functional teams and programs and coach team members

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field

  • 5+ years experience in communications, ideally in internal and change communications

  • Exceptional project management skills with proven ability to plan,develop and deliver content across a variety of channels (online/intranet, social media, print, multimedia, video, events)

  • Experience creating, refining and managing project messaging/positioning

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Clear communications, both written and verbal

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and high volume of work

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment

  • Ability to keep sensitive business/personnel information confidential

  • Flexibility in hours worked (i.e. may need to arrive early or stay late)

  • Proficiency of Windows software (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

GENERAL FUNCTION The Sr. Manager of Communications leads the development and implementation of the brand communication strategy and the reward and recognition program strategy with the goal of enhancing employee experience and engagement. The Sr. Manager oversees all brand communications to stores, field and brand teams as well as all internal Luxottica departments to ensure the communications are concise, effective and tailored to the audience. The position will also provide strategic direction to cross-functional partners and brand team to deliver consistent messages in the voice of the brand. Additionally, the Sr. Manager will be the primary liaison with the vendors for all communications platforms and has responsibility for functional enhancements.   MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES * Lead the overall communications process, aligning with brand strategy and business objectives. * Create brand communications, (written/verbal/multimedia) messaging and storytelling and align to appropriate communication channels * Keenly aware of store operations with a strong attention to detail and accuracy * Manage communication for special projects including new initiatives and product launches/expansions * Manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high quality work on time and on budget * Identify opportunities to streamline process or implement innovative solutions to enhance communication for stores, field and brand team * Own all brand standards and guidelines related to communications * Own communication cadence and delivery method aligned to content, audience and urgency * Establish brand reward and recognition programs, including the implementation of communications opportunities to connect leader with associates and develop key messages and communication materials * Partner with senior brand leadership on development of key messages * Collaborate with the Corporate Communications team to ensure communication strategy aligns with the parent company * Understand graphic design and initiates/leads graphics projects with both internal and external resources. * Establish and track metrics that correlate internal communication programs to employee productivity and organization performance * Support change efforts through development of communication plans to gain associate acceptance and changed behavior   BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor’s degree * 7+ years in communication role, both writing and developing strategic direction * Passion for growing established brands within the industry * Excellent communication skills; written and verbal * Strong organization skills * Strong computer skills – word processing, graphic programs, spreadsheets – Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience   PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills * Able to adapt to new communication technologies and maintain existing – HTML, portals, iPads, videos, etc. * Strong interpersonal skills; high level of professionalism * Skilled in evaluating audience needs and using a communications style and voice that best suits the needs * Team building and leadership skills * Ability to negotiate with vendors and maintain strong vendor relationships * Strong customer service orientation * Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high quality work while meeting deadlines * Willing to work extended hours when necessary Upon request and consistent with applicable laws, Luxottica will provide reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities who need assistance in the application and hiring process.
