Medcor is looking to hire an Internal Auditor to join our IT Security team at our corporate office in McHenry, IL. This is a Full-Time position, with the schedule being Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm.

The Internal Auditor is responsible for performing internal audit functions for the company. This position will work closely with internal departments and external auditing firms on audits such as SOC 2. Other responsibilities include completing internal audits to comply with audit obligations, such as internal control auditing.

A typical day in the life of an Internal Auditor:

  • Test corporate policies, procedures, and controls to ensure audit standards are being adhered to

  • Obtain and evaluate internal control documentation, evidence collection, and formulate remediation plans

  • Participate in discussions and collaborate remediation plans with department leaders, management, and external audit firms

  • Maintain a strong working relationship with department leaders, management, and external audit firms

  • Identify areas of improvement within the audit process

  • Conduct testing against audit controls (i.e. SOC 2)

  • Routine follow up with department leaders in order to adhere to commitments

You Must

  • Have a 4-year Degree in Information Technology, Management, or Accounting

  • Have a basic knowledge of internal auditing standards and controls

  • Have strong PC skills, including experience using MS Office Products; proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as navigating the internet

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Have excellent communication, time management, and detail-oriented skills

  • Be able to multitask workloads as required in order to meet required deadlines

  • Must be able to work independently as directed by management

It's a Plus If

  • You have knowledge of SOC 2 audit types

  • You have entry level knowledge of internal audit standards

  • Have a desire to pursue Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification
