JOB DESCRIPTION:

JOB TITLE: INTERNAL AUDITOR MANAGER

PURPOSE:

The Internal Audit Manager Position is established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission. The purpose of the position is to be an independent appraisal function conducting operational internal controls and financial reviews. The objective of the auditor position is to assist the Tribal Gaming Commission in the effective performance of their monitoring responsibilities.

The auditor position is responsible for assessing controls for operations and financial reviews and will report all findings and recommendations directly to the Commission. The auditor will perform all audits and reviews with accountability and confidentiality. The auditor will be granted unlimited access to all areas, both gaming and non-gaming. The auditor will have unlimited access to all records, policies and procedures. The auditor will have no direct authority over routine operations that are reviewed by the auditor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Plans, directs and/or conducts audits of procedure for compliance with the Minimum Internal Control Standards and the effectiveness of related processes in place within Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel.

  • Plans, directs and/or conducts audits to verify procedures for safeguarding of assets and as appropriate, existence of such assets.

  • Directs and supervises activities of Internal Auditor(s).

  • Reviews and analyzes various reports and researches files and correspondence necessary to accomplish special projects which have been assigned by the Gaming Commission.

  • Analyzes financial and other reports for accuracy, deviation from historical performance and/or budget.

  • Recommends changes in procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, statues or other relevant law.

  • Report weekly to the Gaming Commission with an Activity Report of open, closed, and ongoing activities.

  • Review monthly variance information from operations. Report variance activity to the Gaming Commission on the next Activity Report following the receipt of the information.

  • Reviews financial and operational information for reliability and integrity.

  • Develops auditing tools such as checklists, questionnaires, as needed.

  • Prepares written audit reports for the Gaming Commissioners, Casino Management and Tribal Council.

  • Makes recommendations for improved economy and efficiency of operations.

  • Attends Tribal and Casino meetings as appropriate.

  • Restricted from all gaming on casino property.

  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting required

  • 2 Years' experience in gaming required.

  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred. CPA or CIA preferred.

  • Professional knowledge of the principles, theories and practices of auditing and accounting.

  • Individual should be proficient in applying internal auditing standards, procedures, techniques, etc.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and work with a minimum of supervision is essential.

  • Individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Must have knowledge of different computer programs.

  • Must be able to read and write reports.

  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Native American Preference.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Must possess sensitivity to Native American Culture.

  • Must complete a ninety (90) day probationary period.

  • Must be able to successfully pass alcohol and drug test.

  • Must have full capability to interpret and comprehend extensive gaming material as directed by State Compact and Federal guidelines.

  • Must be able to pass an extensive background investigation.

  • Must be able to conform to regulations as decreed by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.

SUPERVISION: Gaming Commission

SALARY: $53,352.00 - $86,507.20

VIEW JOBS 11/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-20T00:00 JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Social Services Manager DEPARTMENT: Social Services CLASSIFICATION: Exempt DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serve as Tribe's representative in Indian Child Welfare Act cases and provide assistance to individuals or agencies in the investigation and reporting of cases involving Indian children, in general. * Manage cases which includes preparing case records, summaries, special and routine reports and other records including individual case plans. * Develop and maintain active participation in prevention and early intervention programs in cooperation with other agencies as required for comprehensive child protection program. * Recruit and designate foster homes for Indian children on the Settlement and surrounding area and attend foster care hearings as required to monitor progress of children. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships with schools, agencies and offices as it relates to social services in general and Indian Child Welfare, specifically. * Counsel clients and provide referrals for other services as necessary. * Serve as contact person for Iowa Department of Human Services in regard to the emergency removal and placement of Indian children. * Supervise Indian Child Welfare staff. * Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by contract and Tribal Administration. * Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: * Master's Degree in Social Work and four years of experience in social services case management with at least two years as a supervisor OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. * Experience with Indian Child Welfare Act cases. * Must be eligible for licensure by the State of Iowa and a member of NASW or eligible to obtain membership. * Must have excellent counseling and communication skills. * Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable. * Must be willing to be on-call evenings and weekends. * Must submit to and successfully complete a background investigation.
