POSITION SUMMARY:

Conducts or assists in conducting financial, operational and compliance audits as assigned to evaluate internal controls. Respond to audit questions from Bank staff and support efforts to comply with laws and regulations. Maintain a thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations to assist in maintaining and tracking regulatory compliance. Provide a WOW experience to our internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Performs advanced audits as assigned to determine whether controls and processes established by the Bank are adequate and effectively maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements and the Bank's policies and procedures.

  • Prepares written internal audit reports, including findings, analyses, and conclusions. From this report recommends corrective action and suggests improvement as needed.

  • Independently performs assigned tasks with little management review.

  • Actively considering and seeking training towards a specialty area within the audit risk assessment (Depository Compliance, Lending Compliance, Financial, or IT/Electronic Banking etc.)

  • May be a mentor coaching and training team members in execution of audit processes. May include helping complete audit workpapers, answering questions, general training, or review of work.

  • Maintain proficient knowledge of the rules and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Regulation E, Truth in Savings Act, Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), FACTA, Reg Z-Truth in Lending, Reg B-Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act.

  • Respond to internal control and operational questions from Bank personnel.

  • Manage and complete projects as assigned including audit schedule, by the department manager in a timely manner.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience of at least 3 years of related financial institution experience or related area.

  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures and related programs.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person and over the phone.

  • Good personal skills with the ability to effectively work with individuals and groups at all organization levels; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Must be bondable.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.
