Expected Starting Salary Range: 26.42 - 32.71
As a Staff Auditor, you will function as an Internal Auditor by planning and performing internal audits, auxiliary reviews, and various special projects. The Staff Auditor will report directly to the Internal Audit Manager while working under the guidance of Senior Staff Auditors. The Staff Auditor will work with other Internal Audit team members and CCHMC management to plan and perform audits of business processes for compliance with CCHMC policies and procedures as well as applicable laws and regulations. Assist in testing the adequacy of existing internal controls to ensure they are operating effectively and consistently. Understand and assess the control implications of significant new systems as they are implemented, making recommendations if applicable.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct assigned internal audits and projects
Perform and document audit procedures
Build and execute audit scopes
Conduct meetings/calls with process owners and key personnel
Analyze operational and financial data
Validate operational compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations
Evaluate and test internal controls associated with assigned audits
Identify and effectively communicate meaningful audit findings and recommendations
Document the results of audit testing with clear and concise audit work papers that support initial conclusions
Prepare audit summary reports for management
Assist management in follow-up on audit findings and corrective action plans
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Healthcare Management, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management etc.)
Agreement to obtain an audit certification within 24 months of employment
1 year of experience auditing or quality assurance improvement in a complex corporate environment
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to understand and evaluate business processes and controls
Ability to extract and creatively utilize information from existing systems
Ability to provide detailed and practical guidance regarding implementation of audit recommendations
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, One Note etc.)
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Exceptional critical thinking skills
Ability to execute audits in various areas (Operations, Revenue Cycle, Finance, Human Resources, etc.)
Ability to be a team player and self-motivated individual contributor
Preferred:
Audit certification(s) - Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (CHIAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Knowledge and understanding of Internal Audit standards and principles (IPPF, IIA Code of Conduct, ISO)
Experience in the Healthcare industry (Hospital, Medical Provider, Medical Practice, Revenue Cycle, Insurance, HIPAA, HITECH, Compliance) is strongly desired
EPIC experience is a plus
Exposure to external audits including but not limited to: Service Organizational Control (SOC), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), HIPAA Security Risk Assessment, HITRUST, etc.
Project management and process improvement procedures
Experience with Audit/Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) software (Workiva, Audit Board, Service Now, Logic Manager, Audivate, etc.) is a plus
Workday experience is a plus
Job Details:
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Hybrid - will be required to come on site periodically)
Schedule: Monday through Friday (40 Hours per week)
Hours: Flexible (TBD)
