The Bon Secours Mercy Health Internship Program is a paid 10-12 week, immersive program that will expose students to the healthcare industry while also giving them the skills and experience needed to build a future career. The program also features additional opportunities for mentorship, networking, career & professional development, community service, job shadowing, and exposure to senior and executive leaders. The intern will work under the direction of Mercy Health leadership by supporting the Internal Audit team on special projects. The Internal Audit team is responsible for independent evaluation of organizational controls as a function of the BSMH board.
Location: Home Office in Cincinnati, OH (other locations may be available)
Dates: Monday, May 18th, 2020 - Friday, August 7th, 2020
Hours: 40 hours per week for a minimum of 10 weeks
Support audit planning, in areas such as: Physician arrangements - 340B, IT General Controls, Regulatory compliance
Learn audit process from risk assessment to audit planning, audit performance, reporting and follow-up
Perform steps within a given audit work program, including testing and documentation of controls and testing results
Assist with audit planning and work program development, as well as regulatory research
Utilize automated audit system
Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration
Preference for Seniors/Graduates
Basic understanding of business internal controls
Preference for a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 Scale)
Strong service orientation
Self-starter with strong work ethic and sense of accountability
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Good communication (verbal, written, and listening)
