CLA is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate to join our Financial Institution Group (FIG) in St. Louis. We are looking for a staff member to provide support for our internal audit & compliance practice.

The position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a FIG practice with a strong reputation within our local markets for excellent technical expertise and a commitment to client service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

To provide support to the internal audit & compliance team, including:

  • Prepare request list for work papers required to perform client fieldwork

  • Receive file downloads and prepare the work papers for the binder(s)

  • Create the Engagement binder(s), to coordinate with scheduled fieldwork

  • Copy work papers to the binder(s), using our numbering system

  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for training, as requested by client

  • Set up codes for new client engagements

  • Grammatical review and formatting of client reports

  • File reports and correspondence; in electronic format

  • Monitor report progress

  • Client contact for fieldwork preparation and report distribution

  • Other duties as requested

OCCUPATIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Financial Institution experience, a plus

  • Professional writing skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously

  • Good communication skills verbal and written

  • Strong work ethic

  • Flexibility to manage changes in priorities

Self-starter, highly motivated, desire to learn, ability to work in a high paced environment, relate well to others and enthusiastic, flexible and willing to help in other areas as needed

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Two year degree required or five years of equivalent work experience may be considered as a degree equivalent in some cases.

  • Individuals with greater experience and education may wish to pursue this as a career path option as well.

Overview Role Purpose Conducts and coordinates reviews of BJCMG providers' documentation to ensure accuracy of services billed. Prepares reports of findings to be presented to providers. Develops educational opportunities for new and existing providers giving instruction on federal and state regulations, documentation guidelines, and coding training in a way that ensures compliance with governmental regulations. Collaborates with departments in providing appropriate education to staff as it relates to compliance and privacy of protected health information. Responsibilities Conducts and coordinates routinely scheduled reviews of BJCMG providers' documentation involved with professional fee billing, for accuracy of coding and physical presence. These reviews consist of ambulatory E&M services and office procedures, as well as hospital admissions, subsequent visits, hospital procedures, and all other services performed by BJCMG providers. The coordinator will review medical record documentation to identify under-coded and up-coded services, prepare reports of findings, and meet with providers to provide education and training on accurate coding practices and compliance issues.Researches, analyzes, and responds to inquiries regarding compliance, inappropriate coding, denials, and billable services. Monitor trends and develops education and training on accurate coding practices and compliance issues.Independently interacts with providers regarding billing and documentation policies, procedures, and regulations; obtains clarification of conflicting, ambiguous, or non-specific documentation.Develops training, instruction, and independently provides technical support to providers and coders, as appropriate, regarding coding compliance documentation, regulatory provisions, and third party payer requirements.Interacts with government agencies/contractors, management, employees and others, as necessary, to ensure an understanding of the organization's compliance initiatives.
