Position Overview / Key Accountabilities:
Intern will assist with responding to the state income tax notices received from various states. This will include research on individual notices, reaching out to local state representatives to get a better understanding of the assessment and going through historical tax returns to determine the validity of the additional tax assessed. In addition to confirming the calculation of the interest and penalties being applied, and sending letters to states to see if any can be abated.
Intern can expect to gain a thorough understanding of the state income tax notice process and how the corporate tax department researches various notices to determine their validity and confirms their accuracy based on individual state laws and regulations. In addition, intern will gain a working knowledge of state income tax returns by working on the various notices.
Assist with responding to state income tax notices.

Assist with organization of various tax correspondence and documents.

Pursuit of degree in Accounting
