Are you an engineering student who is looking for a challenging and rewarding internship experience in one of the fastest growing industries in Ohio? AEP OnSite Partners is looking for qualified candidates to develop solutions for customers in the highly competitive energy industry.

Candidates should be upperclassman or graduate engineering students. This is a paid internship with compensation based on previous experience. AEP OnSite Partners is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Electric Power that provides commercial and industrial energy solutions to customers located throughout the United States.

As part of the engineering team, the Energy Engineering Intern investigates the business potential of energy solutions; supports construction and asset management activities; conducts individual energy use analyses; researches new technologies; analyzes current and future market trends; and develops tools for engineering sales support. Candidates must be proficient in developing spreadsheet tools, writing technical reports, and presenting formal recommendations. Strong interest in energy, economics, and business is preferred.

This position may also require the successful candidate to evaluate, design, estimate, and provide project management of electric and gas facilities at various levels of complexity. This position requires a current student of an ABET accredited, four-year engineering college High importance placed on the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbal and written High consideration for those candidates with interpersonal skills which are effective in communication with internal and external customers. Desire a quick learner with the willingness to remain flexible in various work assignments. Possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation. Creating hydraulic models by drawing in facilities. Collecting and analyzing data and reviewing records. Creating job order sketches. Perform field measurements Assemble data to create job order estimates Successful candidate will start in summer, 2019 Safety consciousness required.
