Safran Aerosystems is a world leader in aircraft electrical distribution, inflatable safety and water and waste management systems. It is also a major supplier of oxygen systems, telemetry and communication solutions, in-flight entertainment systems or fuel systems.

Duration: 6 months (20-40 hours a week required)

Starting Pay: $20.00 hourly, Depending on education and experience

Intern (candidate)

  • Able to work the full 6 month program, 20-40 hours per week

  • Junior or Senior Undergraduate Engineering student preferred

  • Some SolidWorks and/or Smarteam and/or CATIA experience preferred

  • Highly detail oriented: able to correctly interpret complex, tabulated specifications and able to meticulously follow CAD modeling, data entry and related process requirements


WWS utilizes SolidWorks 3D modeling and drawing tool as the primary design desktop CAD system. In addition to creating unique ZWWS parts and assemblies, designers must also create a wide variety of non-WWS parts (Standard Parts). These items require special handling for creation and release into Smarteam, as they are used across the business unit. Additional resources are needed to help create and validate these models, as well as provide training and documentation materials for User reference.

What are the expected outcomes for the internship?

  • Increase in properly created and configured Standard Parts in SolidWorks

  • Training materials and Standard Parts documentation created and published

What types of training will be conducted during the internship?

  • SolidWorks and Smarteam training as required

  • Standard Parts training

  • 3D model and drawing review

How will educational and professional growth opportunities be facilitated?

  • The experienced gained during the WWS Internship is applicable to a broad spectrum of industries (aerospace, computer sciences, automotive, among others)
