Job Description

This position supports the public relations and community relations teams within the marketing department, and will also partner with the brand, corporate communication and social teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Representing Priority Health as a brand and community ambassador at various events

  • Providing event planning and execution support for community relations projects and events

  • Research health equity, diversity, sustainability best practices, corporate philanthropy strategies and more

  • Goal setting and measurement

  • Support internal communications projects including employee citizenship and volunteer projects

  • Writing press releases, talking points, event plans and more

This position will provide an opportunity to gain experience in advertising, sponsorships, internal communication, public relations, event planning, corporate social responsibility, social media and more.

Job Description Job Summary This position is critical to Priority Health's mission of improving health, inspiring hope and saving lives as we partner with medical communities. Expectations will include: A strong understanding of the guiding principles of; Right care, Right time, Right place, Right cost. This strong understanding of the guiding principles will be demonstrated through applications of evidence-based utilization review process and application of sound clinical judgement. The medical director will be part of the medical director teams and will work jointly with each of the lines of business leaders to assure compliant, evidence-based decisions are provided. This position will also have responsibilities which include peer to peer clinical discussions, and review of previous clinical decisions by Priority Health Medical Directors (appeals). There will at times, be opportunities to clinically contribute to discussions specific to populations health topics. This position will be a strong contributor to support the mission and vision of Priority Health. #LI-EXEC Essential Functions * Understand Priority Health's mission, strategic goals, and value proposition for our communities and the people we serve. * Actively participate in support of medical management. * Provide clinical oversight to nurse case management and utilization management. * Promote and advocate for patient-centered care, evidence-based medicine, and lower per-capita costs; participate in the development of clinical utilization guidelines, health management programs and clinical quality programs. * Promote evidence-base care standards with our community physician partners. * Actively participate in medical/behavioral management with emphasis on the utilization management to promote adherence to Priority Health's approved evidence-based guidelines. * Perform reviews of clinical appeals * Collaborate with Priority Health Medical Directors in utilization and care management case reviews. * Provide support for the grievance process. * Conduct relevant utilization management peer to peer calls. * Have direct involvement with product owners on related behavioral health issues to inform decision process as subject matter expert (SME). * Participate in medical policy review, Technology Assessment and Medical Affairs Committee meetings. * Participate in Priority Health Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings. * Represent Priority Health at Spectrum Health system collaboration meetings as Priority Health SME. * Inform integration of physical and behavioral healthcare in unique settings. * Manage and support behavioral health integration and collaboration across all product lines to improve health outcomes and lower overall total cost of care (TCOC) while reducing the stigma around mental illness and substance use disorders, in support of MDHHS/Medicaid. * Inform and support appropriate risk adjustment activities related to behavioral health. * Provide support for clinical reviews related to fraud, waste, and abuse. * Provide SME support to pharmacists for behavioral health reviews. * Provide SME support for personalized and virtual behavioral health services. * Provide SME support to Priority Health teams outside of the medical division. * Provide SME to team members, including case managers, care managers, social workers, and others in a positive learning manner. Qualifications * Required Doctorate * 3 years of relevant experience in clinical setting Required * 3 years of relevant experience Managed care experience Required * Proven experience and evidence of success in effective physician communication and education skills; evaluation of evidence-based standards of care and application of utilization management skills and strategies.
