Job Overview

This internship is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the CEO's Executive Support team! The position will be involved in the following initiatives: Leadership 2020, BlueSky, and Top 180. You will be a major creative contributor while having ownership of the roll out, marketing and communication of internal culture work streams and strategies. This role will also be a pivotal part of supporting the team at the January leadership conference. Our ideal candidate is creative, social media savvy, and efficient in balancing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Event coordination, scripting, and presentation of original content

  • Content creation that speaks to the DTNA message and mirrors our current voice and best practices

  • Coordination of the annual Leadership conference

  • Working closely with the marketing and social media teams to develop brand strategies that communicate our message

  • Managing multiple projects under the DTNA umbrella

  • Minimum Junior level in a Bachelor's or Master's Program or higher (or have graduated within the past 12 months) required

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher required

  • An attached resume is required

  • Full time availability onsite from October 2018 through April 2019 required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

  • Strong Business fundamentals required

  • Strong Project management experience required

  • Experience working collaboratively with teams is required

  • Proficient in current communications tools (e.g. social media) required

  • Ability to solve complex problems creatively and communicate under pressure required

Graduate level internship work may include in-depth research projects and documentation; complex data analysis and graphs; writing and designing new collateral marketing materials; assisting with audits; developing and executing surveys for internal or external stakeholders; completing process improvement audits. Essential Functions: The Community Health Careers Graduate Intern supports the Community Health Careers initiative by assisting with communications, administrative and clerical tasks, and other projects as assigned. Timeframe for this position is approximately January 2019 - May 2019. Focus on supporting the KP Health Care Career Scholarship Program but will also support other components of the Community Health Careers initiative as assigned. The intern must be proficient in business software including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint and in utilizing social media. The intern must possess the ability to prepare varied correspondence, reports, and other materials with little or no guidance and must be able to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule within the service area is needed. Position Requirements: The intern will focus on supporting the Kaiser Permanente Health Care Career Scholarship Program but will also support other components of the Community Health Careers initiative as assigned. This initiative aims to improve community health by promoting educational attainment in diverse and low-income communities and by diversifying the healthcare workforce. The intern must be proficient in business software including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint and must be proficient in utilizing social media. Experience maintaining databases is a plus. Enrollment in or recent graduation from an educational administration or public health graduate program is preferred, as is experience working in a non-profit, education, and/or public health setting. The intern must possess the ability to prepare varied correspondence, reports, and other materials with little or no guidance and must be able to work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills are required. Primary support functions include the following: * Answer phone calls and emails from teachers and students re: the scholarship application. * Visit selected schools and career fairs to provide presentations on the scholarship * Help coordinate KP Scholars visiting their alma mater to discuss the scholarship. * Conduct outreach to college students eligible to apply for a KP Health Care Career Scholarship. * Assist with maintenance of scholarship program Twitter account. * Review and score scholarship applications * Schedule and conduct interviews of scholarship applicants. * Schedule and make arrangements for committee meetings and other meetings as needed. * Assist with scholarship application data sorting, analysis, and record-keeping. * Provide administrative support during selection committee meetings. * Prepare and send hard copy award packages for recipients. * Send e--award toolkit- and scholarship winner announcements to teachers/counselors. * Assist with planning and coordination of May scholarship ceremony and provide onsite support during the event. * Conduct online research and prepare reports as needed. * Post volunteering opportunities to the KP Cares employee volunteering website. * Recruit employee volunteers for scholarship celebration event and for relevant service activities in the community. * Secure and schedule career learning opportunities at Kaiser Permanente for youth served by non-profit partners. * Contribute as needed to efforts to recruit managers to offer internships and to select Kaiser Scholars for positions * Possibly assist with implementation of CRM system.
