Intern, Process Engineer

Job Summary

The internship program goal is to provide a mutually beneficial relationship between Aquarion, students and their institutions. Interns will be exposed to a variety of water sources, water treatment facilities, processes, technologies, operations and maintenance in order to apply classroom learning and gain hands‐on experience. They will work closely with Aquarion staff who can serve as a role models and mentors. Students interested in receiving academic credit should consult with his/her college advisor to ensure credits can be awarded for participation in this program.

Principal Responsibilities

• An interest in drinking water treatment operations.

• Interest in a career in Water Treatment Operations, Water Treatment Maintenance or Water Utility Management.

• Can provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Education/Certifications

• Currently enrolled full‐time student in an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university program for Water Treatment, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or a related science

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

• Preference for US Military Veterans with experience or an interest in drinking water treatment operations

• Applicant must possess a valid driver's license

Salary

• This position will run from June through the end of August.

• Interns will report to our Shelton office (505 Huntington Street).

• Full-time (40 hours) is required.

• Interns will be expect to work from 8:00AM-4:30PM.

• This role will pay $18 an hour.
