Summary: Voith Paper offers internships to college students in a variety of business functions, including operations, engineering, sales, finance, lean manufacturing and more. Interns are given meaningful projects that contribute to Voith Paper's business. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated summer intern to join the team and assist in projects directly affecting the operations at our facility. This will include developing tools and streamlining processes, project management, and implementing changes. As an integral part of our team, you will work closely with cross-functional team members to implement improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective project manager

  • Ability to plan, organize, carry out operational work

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize analyze and disseminate significant amounts of cross reference data with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI a plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others to obtain effective results

  • Enrolled in an accredited engineering program at a college or university as a full-time student

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

  • Proficient with Power BI, Autodesk inventor, and SAP a plus

  • Working towards a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or Safety or Environmental Engineering (preferred). Students studying Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field may also be considered.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Prior experience or coursework in manufacturing or industrial manufacturing is a plus.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

  • Prolonged periods standing.

  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.

  • Must wear proper PPE including gloves shoes, and ear protection.

  • Office duties including sitting, standing, and walking in an office work environment. Including opportunity to tour a plant to gain insights for use of data analysis.
