Job Description:

  • Perform group insurance eligibility processing and receives customer requests and responds by investigating, analyzing; and resolving all questions and concerns to meet customer expectations while maintaining production, quality, and time service requirements.

  • Review and analyze data and call to Policyholders and Brokers to obtain missing information or clarify questions to ensure proper handling.

  • Assist with projects and complete routine work assignments as directed by management.

  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with internal and external business customers.

  • Participate in a variety of activities with other interns and employees throughout the summer, including social and volunteering events.

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

  • This position requires sitting over 66% of the time and visual acuity at 20 inches (or less) over 66% of the time

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current Avenue Scholar, Millard Public Schools, Omaha Public Schools, Ralston School District, Westside School District or DC West School District student entering their senior year of high school and in good standing.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use various software applications on a personal computer including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Skills in oral and written communication, human relations and creativity.

  • Willingness and motivation to learn new technology and skills.

  • Ability to analyze material and exercise good judgement, be flexible.

  • After offer is accepted: successful completion of a background check, drug screening and a health questionnaire.

Preferred Skills:

  • Desire to work in a customer service role or in the insurance industry preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Summer: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday 8A-5P.

  • Fall/Spring semester; Part-time, 12-15 hours per week. Must be able to meet the hour requirements by being available between the hours of 8A-5P, Monday-Friday.

Dress Code Requirements:

  • Casual and business casual, dress for your day.

Required Tools:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
