What does a 2019 Summer Internship with FIS entail?

As a 2019 Summer Intern with FIS, you will benefit from on the job training and mentoring along with participation in team projects, community service events, social outings, and professional development seminars. This is a full time (40hrs/week) paid internship that will begin on June 3rd and conclude on August 9th, 2019.

Interns will receive the opportunity to build professional relationships and enhance their interpersonal skills. An intern should expect to own the following roles and responsibilities: Contribute individually and/or as a team member to support a designated functional area, analyze business processes, and work towards goals and objectives assigned by an experienced manager. Interns will also interact with and support business partners and participate in projects that directly impact business value.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Programmer Analyst to be hired to join our Implementations team.

  • This position will configure, implement, maintain and support applications software that is delivered on time and within budget.

  • The PA will also work closely with customers, business analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive analysis and design of quality technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategies and complying with FIS standards.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in collegiate coursework at an accredited university.

  • Displays good written and oral communication skills.

  • Demonstrates strong computer skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office.

  • Additional skills, knowledge, and experience may be required based on the type of functions the incumbent will perform.

  • GPA 3.0+

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field from a 4-year accredited university

  • Rising senior graduating in December 2019 through May 2020

Entry level role. Basic skills with moderate level of proficiency. Generally, performs single-function tasks that tend to be of small to moderate size and scope. Works under close supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. Consults with senior peers on non-complex projects to learn through experience. Typically, does not require prior related experience.

General Duties & Responsibilities: * Assist in mapping documentation needs to support the team at every level during their growth within our team, i.e. new hire, seasoned associate, management, etc. * Assist in prioritizing staff needs within the Content Curation Managers project plan with dates/timeframes when deliverables are due. * Assist in creating a learner workflow to support in the moment learning for our staff. * Support adoption of a learning culture within our organization. * Work with management and ground level staff to identify needs to ensure the documentation meets requirements for on the job learning. * Generate new ideas to draw audience's attention based on feedback with working with staff. * Use content management systems to provide feedback on ease of use from staff's perspective. * Gather feedback from staff to optimize existing material. * Assist in creating a user rating system for online resources and documentation to ensure efforts are tied to the most impactful need with staff. * Collaborate with staff outside our organization for special initiatives to level up our business unit's knowledge base of the industry. * Interest in learning more about the credit and banking industry. Qualifications: * Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university pursuing a degree in a related field of study * Displays good written and oral communication skills * Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of MS Office * Ability to work in one of FIS' strategic locations for the duration of the internship * GPA requirementof 3.0 or higher * Additional skills, knowledge, and experience may be required based on the type of functions the incumbent will perform.
