Our HR Department in East Meadow, NY, is offering a six-month internship starting July 15, 2019.
The Department is responsible for personnel matters pertaining to the Lufthansa Group's operations in the Americas, specifically policy setting and enforcement for the entire area, as well as personnel administration, payroll, benefit administration and related support functions for the Group's operations in North America. We are responsible for over 1,600 active local employees and expatriates and over 1,500 retirees. Our goal is to provide quality service to all employees and retirees in an efficient and effective manner.
We are looking for a motivated, proactive student (m/f) with strong skills in project coordination who uses his/her knowledge to support our HR Department in daily routine tasks as well as HR related projects.
Assisting HR team with various projects that include Business Services (e.g. Onboarding, Recruiting), HRIS, Payroll, Benefits and Employee Relations & Compliance
Assisting HR IT Team including maintaining/developing our department intranet website and support in the testing and roll-out of new HR systems
Assisting HR Compliance in Change and Process Management including research on specific HR topics and process documentation
Preparing and compiling presentations
Assisting with creating and sending out the HR Newsletter to Managers and Employees
Support in Employer Branding activities
Other tasks as assigned
At the date of your internship you have completed the 2nd semester of your study program in Business Administration, Human Resources, Business Psychology, International Management or similar as it would relate to an HR perspective

Prior experience in HR is desirable but not mandatory
You have very strong (business) English skills both, written and verbal
You have expert knowledge with MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint)
You should have a profound knowledge of social media in a business context
You are committed and able to work independently
You have the ability to familiarize yourself with new topics quickly
You are a good communicator, creative and a team player

If you have already completed a voluntary internship within the Lufthansa Group in the past, this internship must be a mandatory one
You must be currently enrolled at a University or in your gap year
