SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Recruiting Intern will work on exciting and creative projects aligned to recruitment and program management to support University Recruitment functions. As a member of the Amtrak Recruitment team, the Intern will learn recruiting fundamentals, interact with prospective candidates, participate in interviews, partner with talent acquisition specialists and hiring managers, assist with program development functions. The intern will also encounter several hands-on experiences contributing to organizational objectives.
Work closely with various members of Amtrak's Talent Acquisition team to enhance comprehension of recruitment processes, strategies, and best practices
Act as primary support for University Recruitment team
Source resumes and schedule interviews as needed
Phone screen applicants
Participate in candidate interviews
Participate in business focused recruitment strategy meetings
Work objectively with solid judgement to influence candidate selection decisions
Assist with projects aligned to University Recruitment Program development
May support other recruiting activities as assigned
This position begins Summer/May 2019
Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
Commitment to excellent customer service
Strong organizational skills
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
