As a Database Administrator (DBA) Intern at Micron Technology, you will work with experienced DBAs to support the company's operational, infrastructure, and project needs. You will work with senior team members to plan, coordinate, and administer database functions such as upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and data protection. You will also assist in maintaining documentation You will learn about designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining databases with respect to quality, flexibility, cost, capacity/performance, and redundancy. You will work with support resources as well as customers from around the world in the management of Micron's large database environment which encompasses MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, SAP HANA, and Teradata.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on database administration and related technology

  • Work with the operational support team

  • Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with worldwide DBA team members

  • Provide database support for company projects as assigned, both local and global

  • Complete projects as assigned by the Operations Manager

Education

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT related field.

Experience

Course work preferred in the following: Database Administration, Database Design, and SQL.

Some scripting in Python, Perl, or PowerShell preferred.

This individual will be responsible for reviewing Basic complexity client files to ensure they are operating their 401(k) plans in compliance with IRS and ERISA rules and regulations.
