SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Works on one or more projects as the technology subject matter expert or technical leader/consultant within the Office 365 environment. When involved with a project team, acts in a consultative manner and typically does not provide administrative or management type of support. Works on the most complex tasks, projects and support issues that involve a high degree of risk, impacts business unit performance and makes use of the individual's high level of knowledge within one or more areas of specialty.
Researches and analyzes complex technologies within area of required expertise.
Assesses emerging technologies. Evaluates and may recommend new products or tools for the organization.
Assist in cost-benefit and risk analysis.
Makes recommendations and influences long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units.
Assists in the development and analysis of source selection strategies.
Works with service providers to ensure that their in-scope technical solutions are consistent with the enterprise business strategy and architecture.
Serves as a consultant and escalation point for issues. Provides project managers with technical consultation and advice, enabling quick response to inquiries related to the program/project.
Provides technical analyses to help define, assess, and monitor the technical aspects of the program/project or service.
Designs innovative solutions using new technologies. Recommends short-term alternatives when appropriate.
Lead troubleshooting of existing information systems or networks to identify errors or deficiencies. Brainstorms possible solutions and evaluates alternatives against decision criteria.
May lead team responsible for the resolution of support issues escalated by senior operations, development personnel or service provider personnel. Works with vendors during the problem resolution process as needed.
Provides technical expertise across business functions. Identifies opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies.
Provides support for Principal Technologist's representation of Amtrak relevant, industry forums.
Provide Tier II/III support for all Messaging and Collaboration related incidents and service requests.
Support complete mail flow from Cloud to desktop.
This position begins Summer 2019
Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science.
Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p
Excellent customer interaction skills.
The ability to lead and/or be part of a team.
COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
