Summary
The Intern, Grid Strategy & Analytics works under the direction of transmission engineering team while learning about and executing tasks for interconnection due diligence of solar and storage projects across North America.
Principal Responsibilities/Key Results Areas
Responsible for modeling of electrical power system networks, contingency files, monitoring area and subsystem files.
Conduct technical studies and make analysis, interpretations, and conclusions under guidance and supervision.
Perform interconnection related research on various ISOs region and type of technical analysis conducted by the team.
Utilize computer software such as Powerworld Simulator, Tara, ABB-Velocity Suite, PSS/E, PSLF to perform technical studies.
Present findings and reports to internal with results, conclusions, and recommendations.
Develop an understanding of the technical and commercial issues applicable to integration of renewable energy into electrical power systems.

Reporting Relationships & Interactions
No direct financial responsibility
Reports to Associate Director, Transmission Engineering.
Supports the Transmission Engineering team.
Interacts with various internal groups and external parties
Requirements
Must be in good standing as a student at the Master's, or Ph.D. degree level at an accredited university majoring in an Electrical Engineering and returning to school full-time at the end of the internship or have recently graduated.
Knowledge of Electrical Engineering fundamentals and theory with an emphasis on power engineering.
Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of and analytical software is a plus.
The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Comfortable working in a remote setting.
Able to work Full-Time in Summer 2023.
