Job Description:

Position Summary

Supports the Fixed Asset Accounting department as assigned.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Processing work order set up and completion notices

  • Assist in monthly closing activities including journal entries and reconciliations

  • Data mining & data manipulation

  • Documenting departmental procedures for key tasks

  • Working in spreadsheets

  • Attending meetings with management & potentially senior management.

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

Requires enrollment at an accredited four-year college or university. Ideal candidate would be a Finance/Accounting major entering their junior year.

Seniors are eligible to apply. Strongly prefer 3.0 GPA or above. Requires professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.

Excellent computer skills.

Experience using Microsoft Excel is preferred. Strong math, statistics or accounting skills.

Recent completion of a Technical Writing or Business Writing course preferred. Good time management and organizational skills. Aptitude to analyze data to make a business case for recommendations.

Great oral and written communication skills. Ability to conduct research using the internet or other tools.

What You Will Do: We are seeking interns motivated to grow Information Technology (IT) expertise through hands-on experience. As integral team members, interns collaborate with technical professionals to support our client's mission and growth objectives. Interns are expected to: * Assist in the development of IT Asset Management Process and Procedures. * Gather and organize information to feed the Asset Management database, through: * Use of existing IT tools (e.g. Splunk, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE) * Interviewing team members * Reviewing/analyzing documentation, such as maintenance contracts and baseline documents, to extract the relevant information * Identify the asset attributes that needs to be collected and device a method for collection, automated where possible * Collaboratively support team goals and members * Actively participate in planning activities, artifact creation, testing and demonstrations * Analyze project-related problems and create innovative solutions, scheduling, technology, methodology, tools, and components * Follow the software development life cycle (waterfall or Agile Scrum methodology) by brainstorming the technical approach, developing code, and unit testing according to the development schedule and team processes * Assist with technical and functional documentation * Ensure product quality and timeliness Required Qualifications: * Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program (Preferred majors include Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Computer Science) * Completed two Computer Science and/or Engineering courses * Self-starter with strong communication skills, work ethic, and team focus Desired Qualifications: * Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word) * Basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software * Experience with software development lifecycle, especially Agile * Prior experience working in Information Technology Years of Experience: 1-2 Minimum Education Required: High school/GED About Us: Attain is a place for great ideas and the people who have them.
